Hey friends, the few visual bugs on selection caused by the mouse bug corrected by Google and not included by Nvidia are not a so big problem, i think.

Anyway if you want blame someone, you must blame Nvidia developers that use old source without include fixes.

I can't ruine a firmare just to solve something that must be solved by Nvidia. After all, you have the same bug also on stock firmware, therefore if you are not happy, reinstall the stock firmware, reproduce the bug with an app that you like and request the Nvidia support. You can point to my forum for the solution. I explained well evrything, also an idot is able to integrate the few line of code and correect.

I don't have the source code and i don't want ruine a firmware deodexing and patch the smali code.

I'm thinking on the best solution, but for now the situation is this.

If you follow my intructions and expecially you update from a version to another with standard Nvidia procedure. Nothing can happen also if you install an iso of the most strange porn video instead the regular files. :)

I explain better. in Shield TV only the bootloader update is a dangerous thing. But if you update from a version to another with the standard Nvidia procedure, everything could happen, will happen also if your never modified your device.

How to update always with Nvidia procedure ?

You are on a Nvidia version, you install full Android and nothing can happen also with bad files.

Nvidia update the original firmware.

You restore the previous original firmware and update with Nvidia procedure.

When you are on the new Nvidia firmware, you install the new full Android.

In this way you are super, super, super, super SURE because you update the bootloader always with the Nvidia procedure. And since you have good bootloader, you can always go in fastboot and install everything you want.

To unterstand better: Was it more simple to deodex the 1.5? Finally can you explain why interacting Nova launcher work with droidmote? Are these signals recognized as touch input and USB mouses not?

Forget deodex and 1.5 is a long story full of complex thing not adapt for discussions of this forum. Just too long to explain.

Instead the fact that the touch mouse of DroidMote is not affected by the mouse bug on some elements, is because as the word say, the touch mouse is not a mouse but a touch mouse. A fake pointer that emits touch when you click instead than left mouse button.

In fact DroidMote have normal mouse by default and touch mouse if you enable it in settings. The touch mouse was invented by me to support multi touch games that not have standard mouse support. Many multi touch games.

Now, in the scenario of the changes on mouse, Google decided that regular mouse not force anymore the view in touch mode and this is official. When you use the touch mouse, is like you use a touch screen and the view is forced in touch mode as always.

This is the story.

The official change bring the fact that Launchers must support explictly a mouse and not like in the past where you can have mouse support as consequence that you handled touch events. Pixel Launcher already have mouse support and also others launchers.

Conseguence of this official change, in early source code of Android 8 ( the case of Shield TV ), produced a bug where you can't scroll well with mouse list view and selection problems with the mouse. But this was already corrected by Google some months ago and not imported by Nvidia.

In previous versions of full Android Oreo, i restored the old behaviour with a dirty hack. But this bring other problems and is not a solution since on all future firmwares Android will work in this way. Therefore we must use Launchers that have mouse support and hope that Nvidia fix soon the consecutive bug of this change. But the consecutive bug not create so big problems.

The official change on mouse in Oreo is this:

I have not searched yet but in google play few that i tested

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ncher.plah

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... flowerfree

For me the best is what we have by default, the rootless pixel launcher. The only thing that i not like is the name rootless that for me means idiot. :D But apart this, all ok.

Android without root is like a Ferrari without engine.
Is like an house where others can have the keys and you no.
If you can't have the keys of an house you are not the owner.
Since you payed money to buy. your device, you should be the owner and not just a guest.

I forget to say that Nvidia Gamecast Service is active and usable in version 1.7

You must create a shostcut to use it.

Install Quickshortcutmaker app
Go in widgets section of the launcher, and select quickshortcutmaker
In quickshortcutmaker select the Nvidia Gamecast Service main activity and click on create

In this way you will have an icon on Launcher and you can open Nvidia Gamecast Service

Nvidia Gamecast Service is the Nvidia app that permit also to record the screen. but personally i use other apps.

I’m not geek enough to understand. I tried to download ADB fastboot tools but it won’t stay open. It kept close window in less a second. Also, I tried to press A and B button then plug power cord to get in. It won’t go to that fastboot screen.

I’m not sure if I understand this correct.

*** If you are on a Windows PC, download and install Nvidia ADB/Fastboot drivers while booted up in Fastboot mode for your device to get recognized.

Do you mean I need to install Nvidia ADB/ Fastboot while my nvidia shield tv is in fastboot mode? Is it different program between Nvidia ADB/Fastboot and SDK Plutium? Where is Nvidia ADB/Fastboot?

I beg for forgive for not understanding this.
