You must install first the drivers and after you can run the server droidmote.exe followed by port and password, droidmote.bat automatically start droidmote.exe on port 2302 and password "password". To install DroidMote Server on Windows 8.1 64bit version, you must disable driver signing, therefore follow this instructions:
1) From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
2) Click ‘Change PC Settings’.
3) Click ‘Update & Recovery’.
4) Click ‘Recovery’.
5) Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’ under ‘Advanced startup’.
6) Wait a bit.
7) Click ‘Troubleshoot’.
8) Click ‘Advanced Options’
9) Click ‘Startup Settings’.
10) Click Restart.
11) When your computer restarts, select ‘Disable driver signature enforcement‘ from the list.
12) open cmd (command prompt) as administrator.
13) go to the driver folder.
14) for installation type in cmd: install.
15) after this type in cmd: bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON.
*** If, when launch the server, you have a notification MSVCR100.DLL missing, install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) in any operating system you have 64 bit or 32 bit ***

Re: Windows 8.1 - Installation
Good day, zulu99
I have 32-bit windows 8.1. According to description above it's not required to execute all the steps mentioned.
So instruction for insalling droidmote server should be as:
1. run cmd.exe as admin
2. from cmd run intall.bat
3. from cmd run droidmote.bat
right?

Re: Windows 8.1 - Installation
Just found that on my win 8.1 32-bit it's required to disable driver signing as well.
But I'm not able get it working:
got this on droidmote start up:
Error: HidD_GetPreparsedData failed
Error: HidD_GetPreparsedData failed
Waiting for incoming connections on ip:
192.168.1.7 on port 2302
Client doesn't detect server and can't connect to the IP. Firewall setting looks to be OK.
Please advise.
Thanks

Re: Windows 8.1 - Installation
It looks like being some Windows 8.1/My device specific issue.
I can't host any service on the tablet. They could not be reached from outside. (e.g. Telnet server is not working)
I disabled firewall - no result. Also can't open shared folder on tablet from PC (vice versa works OK)
That issue really prevents from using my android phone as keyboard/touch pad.
Would appreciate any idea to fix this
