@zulu99 just let you know your rom has perfected the shield! your rom on the shield is hands down the most stable and snappy android device ive ever owned, just saying.

i have a question , when i reboot i get a message stating (process system isn't responding, do you want to close it, wait or OK) no mater if i hit wait or OK it it goes right away, makes no difference and has no effect what so ever on the system, this is not a problem for me i would just like to know what it means and if there is a way to stop it?
thanks for all your help

I don't have this. Is something that you have installed.
The firmware by default have only power off if you long press the power button, there are many ways to add reboot funtionalities like power material app or with Gravity box xposed module or many others.

I think that the message come from something that you have installed that not work well.

When you have doubts, a factory reset solve everithing if you not changed also system stuff. Otherwise if you changed also system stuff the reinstallation of the firmwsre solve everything.

P.S.
Can be also an old xposed framework version.

Plex Media Server is coming to stock.

Love the idea of running the server from this machine. Zulu hopefully you can find a way to port it over when it launches :)

When the new version will be published, we will have also this functionality. Is nothing special compared to what we already have.

But attention, the reality is that this functionality is just an advertisment not very useful today.

Why ?

If you have the Shield TV connected to your main TV, for sure you will see every video directly on Shield TV because Shield TV can decode everything, you don't need transcoding.

You can say i have more than one TV and only one Shield. In this scenario i can say that today every cheap chinese android box ( also of 35$ ), smart tv or chromecast can decode directly without transcoding almost every video format at 1080p. Therefore is not necessary consume hardware resource of Shield TV if your other device can handle the video by himself.

You can say i want stream my local videos over internet when i'm out of my house. A centalized simple NAS and a cheap portable android box can solve also this.

But your best question can be i have a Chromecast connected to another TV in my house and a 4k video that Chromecast can't decode, but i want see this video in the bed without disconnect the Shield TV from my main TV.
If you want transcode this 4k video with GPU of Shield TV in real time, you can do this also now. Cast the entire screen of Shield TV to Chromecast dongle ( with full Android we can in very simple way ). The resultt is that you can run Kodi and all your 4k videos also on your other TV via Chromecast. How can change channeles, videos and remote control the device when i'm in the other room ? Simple with DroidMote.

Now, can someone suggest to me a real scenario where we need Plex Server on Shield TV and we can't have a better alternative considering that the mobile plex client have also a subscription cost ?

I think that a media server with transcode functionality was invented in the past to decode with the power of your PC video formats that a small Android device can't decode. Today many cheap Android devices can decode almost everything better than your PC at 1080p :) You see many approvals for this functionality because many users are old like me and with the mind on old devices. Today the scenario was changed and every year always better, tomorrow also your watch will be able to devode HEVC videos :)

I have the last full Android 1.2, the last Chromecast receiver 1.19.63098

I can cast Youtube, Netflix and others apps, but i can't cast the entire screen of my Phone to Shield TV
But i can cast the screen of Shield TV to a Chromecast dongle that is connected on TV in another room ( that is more useful )

it is understood that to have Ntflix cast functionalities, you must install also the Netflix TV app.
But i confirm that cast the entire screen of phone galaxy s6 android 6 to Shield TV not work today with last version. I think is something related to the fucking Google Play services that add and remove things from Android devices without a fucked changelog. monopolists.

UPDATE
I uninstalled the fucking Google Play service update and also mirroring work. As i said above.

why you have 2.1 Lollipop firmware ? we are based on 3.x Marshmallow firmwares from a long time.

however you can't update from lollipop to Marshmallow just with recovery firmware from what i know. You can download the stock recovery 3.2 firmware from Nvidia website and try. But you have already tested.

The solutuon for a good update from Lollipop to Marshmallow is installing the 3.0 or maybe also the 3.1/ 3.2 OTA update from TWRP recovery.

You download the OTA zip, not the recovery firware from Nvidia ( but i don't have the link you must search for it ) and install the zip from TWRP recovery like a normal update.

The OTA is differeny from recovery firmware that you can find on Nvidia website. The OTA is the zip file that the stock firmware automatically download to update. You should find the link on Geforce fotum or on xda.
