Mine crashes when I try to cast my phones screen or a chrome tab........ you tube works and I get HD netflix etc.. but just doing the screen with google cast will crash on the shield . Also casting any single Tab will crash the shield.... when using this rom....

has any one extracted the shield android tv settings apk? iv been doing so experimenting with android tv setting app, i extracted the apk from my wetek core, it has both android and ATV settings app's, i am able to have full control of network settings, for instance change ip to static or switch between wifi and ethernet. what im most interested in is the display settings of android tv settings, when i click on display settings the app crashes, is there another apk that i need to extract to make ATV display settings function? or is it even possible to make the display settings function?

Hi guys I'm new to the shield tv and will be receiving mine Tuesday. I am interested in installing full MM but have some questions that I'm still unclear about.

First off I ordered the shield tv pro edition, an extra game controller, and the nvidia remote and from what I've read if I install full android I will not be able to use controllers wirelessly. Am I understanding this correctly?

If I run the full MM firmware what's my options for input devices? A Bluetooth keyboard mouse combo, nvidia game controllers, nvidia remote?

As far as games and apps ill I be able to download pretty much everything available in the playstore using the full MM Rom.? And will I be able to the do the same thing with nvidias stock firmware rooted?

I also like the idea of the Droid mote. How exactly does this work? I install the app on my htc 10, setup everything, and use my phone screen as my remote?

I mean if I could return the nvidia remote and use my phone as a refund that would save me $50.also if I can't use my nvidia game controller wirelessly is there a wireless controller they you would recommend. Cause I could return that also.

I also have a Samsung 840 pro 259gb ssd drive in an usb 3.0 enclosure.. Can this be used for adoptable storage or would it hinder performance?

Also have a 4tb Wd external USB 3.0 formated ntfs full of all my local media. Will the shield read and write data to a Ntfs?

I'm sure I have more questions but these should give me about where I stand.

THAANKS IN ADVANCE FOR THE HELP. LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING BACK FROM YOU.

Google disabled mirroring of phone to Shield TV with Google Play Service update, but you can still use all others casting functionalities and also mirror the Shield TV to a Chromecast dongle that is more useful to have Shield in every room without move the device.

If you uninstall the Google Play Services update you are also able to mirror your phone.

Google Play Service is a cancer inside Android, in this way Google control everyone and you can't never have a changelog of this worm.

With full Android you can do everything you can do with a tablet. About hardware video decoding and sound you have the same parts of Stock firmware, so you can decode everything and install and use everything.
You can also control everything also multi touch apps and games with DroidMote.

You lose only the wireless functionality of Shield Controller, but for sure in your house you have a standard and better controller that work also in wireless. Apart that many Android games can be played very well also with DroidMote. For example i use 24/7 only DroidMote to control everything.

you can see me in action with Shield Tv in this video playlist:

Your SHIELD's USB 3.0 interface is compatible with the FAT32, exFAT, NTFS and HFS+ file systems, however it's not yet fully implemented.

FAT32 (32 GB or less) - SHIELD supports the FAT32 data format. Most drives that are 32 GB or less are already formatted as FAT32. If the storage drive is not formatted, format it to FAT32, using your PC or Mac computer. The limitation of using drives of this capacity is that your SHIELD will be unable to process files that are more than 4 GB in size.

exFAT (64 GB or more) - SHIELD supports the exFAT data format. Storage drives that are 64 GB and above come pre-formatted as exFAT. This newer data format is able to process files that are more than 4 GB in size.

NTFS - SHIELD does not support the NTFS data format by default.

Also i do not recommend using drive as adaptable storage just use as external

i can use NTFS disks read and write without problems as external storage.

Dear zulu99 hello. Please help to understand what could be wrong? I bought a Bluetooth mouse, but when the Bluetooth mouse is switched to standby mode, the SHIELD Android TV is no longer connected to it. You have to manually turn off again and then turn on the mouse, it is only then connected SHIELD. I tested the mouse to work on three androyd devices. All devices installed androyd 6.0.1, and checked the mouse and work on a personal computer. All devices running the mouse to move and when sleep mode is reconnected without any problems as soon as pressing any button on it. The most annoying is that the Bluetooth mouse to buy SHIELD Android TV, but here such a bug. Help me please. If you need any logs or help I will always be happy to help you. Thank you. Excuse my English.

There seems to be an update. Or something has changed in how Google rolls out play store updates. It keeps sending my Full MM android .... 6.7.13 E-XHDPI[8] 2920556 version I canot install E- all (nodpi) on top of that I have to uninstall the XHDPI one back to 6.2.10 A=All [o] 2590673 then I insall 6.7.13 E-All [nodpi] 2920566 but this will only last a few seconds before it intall the 6.7.13 E-XHDPI[8] 2920556 over that and I lose playstore...
