I not tested everything... but seems that if you upgrade to 7.2.X, you can't turn back on versions less than 7.1

But i not tested because this full Android 1.8 seems to work very well for now.

Anyway the scroll with mouse now work well, at least this was solved, but this don't means that you can drag icons with mouse on launchers that not support the mouse.

Example:
With nova launcher, in Oreo and PIE you can't drag icons on home screen because this launcher not support mouses.
In Oreo and PIE and future versions of Android a launcher must have mouse support added by the developer and not automatically like in the past.

Anyway this is not a problem because many launchers are already updated to support Oreo and PIE.

Also with the default launcher in full Android you can do everything.

I don't understand what you are talking about.

In casee you talk about full Android, to have all working you must install also the patched boot image and after the very first start, a reboot is necessary.

After this all work very fast and correct. On my 3 shield tv.

Anyway, difference from the past, the patched boot image is mandatory. And in the second boot start the optimization of the firmware since full Android 1.8 is deodexed.

Why ? I like pure Android.
I not delete from full Android only things that are preinstalled on stock Nvidia firmware because i know that some users need it.
Anyway, with root, if you want you can delete this apps in one second from the system / vendor folder.

This are stupidities not problems.

The real problem to have full Android is that is almost impossible port pure Android components not avaiable in Android TV without see the original source code.

The work that i do on full Android is extremply difficult, and is not compilation or simple modification of stock phone / tablets firmwares but an extreme hacking work that only a crazy man can do.

For this reason full Android for Shield TV is the only complete Android firmware for Shield TV with all components made by Nvidia inside.

I don't think that others developers can do this because is a crazy work.

I not write this because i want demostrate that i'm smart, but just because when people ask things, not know what there is under this work.

Full Android is almost impossible, but i make it possible like a miracle :)

is hard to explain to users that are not developer of firmwares

but Amazon is almost as bad as Google!!! (you see what permissions an amazon app adds???)

my suggestion was for you to enhance your standing by offering a complete solution, it's all very well allowing for this and that but without protection one is open to infringement laws etc etc etc

The fact that i not speak well english and that the guides are not ready for not expert android users, is a know fact.

But i think that when someone make a so good work like this, others more expert can help less expert users.
After all for this reason we have a forum.

I'm just the inventor of this good things, i need the help of others to share this things to everyone.

But the videos that i record should help to understand at least of what we are talking about to everyone.

Apart all this, i not work only for Shield TV, i support many OSes and devices......

On Shield TV i have only an additional challange to fight an extreme Mafia tech. Nvidia despite have good hardware, is a negative company for the future of tech, many problems that we have today on the open source world are caused by Nvidia. For this reason Linus Torvalds think this of Nvidia

"Transfer files over local network" Not working

Can someone please confirm that the option to transfer files over network works. It seems there is a bug where Shield is unable to load the username and password for connection, it gets stuck at loading...

@zulu99 - I think this a bug that needs fixing as a matter of urgency.

To recreate, do the following:

1. Storage & reset
2. Select "transfer files over local network"
3. Result - Stuck at Loading...
