Hi zulu99, first off, nice work on your firmware, looks very interesting to say the least. I have not yet flashed and installed your firmware but intend to on one of my Shields to see what it is like. I do have a few questions I was hoping you could answer before I do attempt to flash your firmware though.

My device: 2017 Darcy

Q1: If I flash your firmware and then decide I want to go back to Nvidia Stock firmware, is it as simple as flashing back the Nvidia Stock firmware, or do I have to get a copy of the original dtb file and flash that first.

Q2: Where might someone actually find a copy of the original dtb file for the 2017 Darcy model.

Q3. Would flashing the Nvidia Stock boot.img correctly put back a copy of the Stock dtb file.

Thanks for your work and time.

is simple turn back and when you install the stock firmware, the original dtb is restored. is inside the blob file.
simply get the Nvidia stock firmware from Nvidia website and flash.

If someone not know how to make compatible the shield controller bluetooth with others Android devices, i wrote a guide here. You need root like for all good things in Android. Fortunately, today, root with Magisk is very very simple and you can hide the root status everywhere, therefore just pure convenience without lose nothing.

P.S.
Some others controllers are compatible with your phone by default, therefore you don't need root. In case you are not able to root your phone.

I turn off shield tv long pressing droidmote power button and select power off.

I turn off the tv with the tv remote.

In the night or when i not use it, i don't like to have shield tv in standby, otherwise, if i want this, by pressing the droidmote power button, the shield tv go in standby and also the tv power off, because you can set the shield tv to power off tv when go in standby.

Does foster also have a screwed-up DTB? I mean, I can root with Magisk but I can't seem to do anything else. I can't move the data partition to external storage anymore or boot Ubuntu/Linux4Tegra.

I highly recommend staying with FAO 1.7 for now. Moving to 1.8 requires updating the stock rom to 7.2.1, but that has massive problems right now. TWRP is broken, rooting is partly broken, and there are a huge number of complaints on the Nvidia forums: https://forums.geforce.com/default/board/159/shield-tv/
