JXD S7800 + Splashtop + Droidmote?

Hi guys, I'm having some real problems to get this setup working, any help would be appreciated. (before I go any further, this is the first time I've ventured into the land of android stuff, so please bare with me)

The JXD S7800 android device has physical controls built in. I am trying to stream games from my Windows PC via Splashtop and control it with Droidmote. The problem is when I switch Droidmote to the background and boot Splashtop I lose all control completley. Droidmote works fine with the S7800's physical controls while on screen, and imputs into x360ce perfectly....apart from the D-Pad; lord only knows why the D-Pad is the only thing that it doesn't recognise.

As I said - any and ALL help to get this working would be greatly appreciated.

Android ver 4.4.4
Unrooted
(trying to play Final Fantasy XIV : A Real Reborn)

I really hope someone can help, I've been at this for days and this is the workaround solution I've come to.

If you want the client in background you must enable the droidmoteIME like in this video:
