no, it didn't work.
Also disabling SuperSu, the app crash at boot.
"L'applicazione si è bloccata in modo anomalo"
Aftar that i disable SuperSU, every time i re open SU it ask me to update,
i try to do that but it says that is impossible to update.
Now at every boot it says
"Il programma deve essere aggiornato!" but i can't do that by a normal update.
How can i solve those problems?
Thanks.

Nice to return to the thread.... You makes a very good work and support

I'm working in use the shield for all purposes in the big screen... the dvbt part is 90% done... But for play with my child I buy a set of two usb joysticks.... directly to the shield works fine but I don't want cables through the room.

I tried droidmote client and works well But only can attach one of them to one smartphone with droidmote client( I used a USB hub to the USB host port... The Android detects the two devices but droidmote don't send signals to the server )

I investigate the ip/usb to include as workaround in the shield kernel and smartphone but would be better if droidmote supports unlimited devices....

What do you think about?

Thanks and sorry my bad English
you can connect many phones to one server. but in this configurations you must use the software controller. ( every phone is one controller )
Instead you can connect only one hardware controller to the phone if you want use the tethering functionality.

Hey there,

first of all thanks for your great work with the Shield TV, I very much aprreciate the full android experience on there!
It took me the past weekend to figure out some optimal settings for couch usage and it's finally getting there ;)

For me mouse/touch elements are rather secondary (I got them covered by DroidMote if need be), and I have tried to configure the setup as direction-key friendly as possible - for use with my Logitech Harmony Ultimate + Smart Hub. My primary use for the Shield TV is Kodi, but I wanted to be able to control most of the "stock" Android UI with my Harmony as well.

It was quiet some trial and error for me and I'd like to share with everyone who is interested; there are some other forums who explain some of the steps, but why not explain if I'm here:

1. Pairing the Harmony Hub (Ultimate) with the Shield TV via Bluetooth:
1.1- Add a "new Windows PC" device in the MyHarmony desktop software
1.2- Create a new "Action" including the new device (i.e. the Shield "Windows PC")
1.3- open the "Action" via the smartphone/tablet Harmony app and it will ask you to pair with a bluetooth device (bluetooth on the Shield TV on, of course)
-It did not work as I tried to start the pairing by opening the "Action" with the Harmony remote itself, I had to do it via the app

2. Google Now Launcher
-the only launcher I tested which allowed almost total control via direction keys on the desktop an in the app-drawer, sadly not much customisation going on there

3. Button-mapping on the Harmony remote
-I figured out that the important android buttons are mapable inside the Harmony "Windows-PC" scheme
-"MediaCenter" = "Android Home"
-"Right-click" = "Android Menu"
-the "back" mapping works as expected :)

3.1. Gravitybox (MM) via Xposed Module
-as mentioned by zulu99 I installed the module and was able to get some other features out of this three standard buttons via long and double press
-you can map long press home to the "power off" dialog, which enables you to reboot/power off easily
-standy via "screen lock" (e.g. double press home)
-"multitasking" via double/long press menu for fast app switching and open app control

The only things I cannot control through direction keys are the notification bar and the onscreen keyboard (and apps intended for touch control). But as of the couch-friendy launcher setup I'm quiet pleased as of now. If there are further suggestions to enhance the remote control functionality please let me know.

I also have some questions about the webcam functionality with the Full Android firmware, I intended to use it mainly for skype calls and the integrated mic for voice search etc., but when I connect it to the Shield only video works. The mic captures deafening squiking noises and does not work.
I tried it with my windows 10 PC and it worked flawlessly with plug and play.

The webcam I use is this "Creative Labs Live! Cam Chat HD"
Is there something I can do to make it usable?

thanks and so long

For the Russian, Greek and Arabic friends, i made a very useful update in the latest DroidMote Server and Client.

Now when you select Russian, Greek and Arabic languages from DroidMote Server settings, you can write or voice dictate in both languages, English + your selected language. Very useful when you change the soft keyboard language on the Client device.

Attention, to switch language, you must do this only and directly from DroidMote Server settings and not from Android Settings, because the default Key Character Map files for hardware keyboards in Android not permit write in two languages. Yes, DroidMote simulate in Android a real hardware keyboard that support also Key Layout Files .kl and Key Character Map Files .kcm

P.S.
When an user writes with non latin characters, very often need also latin characters to search things in internet or inside the apps.
Is understood that the default multi language keyboard covers all the others latin languages.

I tested both and both are working without crash or problems, but there is the check for root and for device model. In skygo also the check of HDMI screen.
This garbage apps have many security inside. The right street to lose users and market share. in favor of competitors.

Flash again your firmware and clear data/cache to solve your problems. If you have a crash, maybe you have a problem that come from something that you have installed or not installed well. ( if you use xposed, install last versions and the modules that i suggest in second post )
