Marshmallow version. The last version.
Last version avaialable for mashmallow, off the nvidiashieldzone forum.

so does anyone please know how to enforce a static IP ethernet address in Marshmallow (I know how go do it in wi-fi but I do not know which hidden menu to go for for ethernet!) / enforce a static IP address for droidmote so I can always find it at the same address?
Thanks a lot in advance

For DroidMote is not necessary have a static IP. You have the search button on the connection dialog that find automatically every active server in your lan.

If you want set a static ip for others reasons, the only way that i know now, is set the static ip on the router. That is the only right way to set a static ip.

Why is the only right way ?
Because if you assign the static ip directly on a device and this device is turned off, when you turn on others devices the router don't know that must reserve this ip and you can have conflicts.

this is how i set a static ip on my shield with full android, i installed this settings apk that i extracted from my wetek core https://mega.nz/#!4d8BBaqC!NoFjhjk3soJD ... WvjRFxrbDg ) the network function works on this app unlike the settings app from the shield, this allows one to set ip of your choice.
the shield settings app that zulu99 has provided in op the display functions works but not the network?

Thanks for your suggestion, this can be useful for someone.

But i continue not understand why if is so simple set a static ip via router, an user should prefer this config with an app, that as i explained above, can also create ip conflicts in some circumstances.

The only explaination is when a person can't access the router config.

However, your suggestion can be useful to me also for others reason. Thanks.

With Kodi is more simple, better and you can also record, but if you need Live Channels.....

TVHeadend Live Channel add-on
https://tvheadend.org/boards/5/topics/21407

Live Channel for full Android Shield TV

Install the base Live Channel app from the second link and after you can install your sources, in this case i'm using a TVHeadend source.

My video test on full Android:

If for a strange reason in your life you need the garbage leanback launcher.

From the last versions, you need to install it in /system/priv-app otherwise it not works.

there is also a more simple way, install a previous version made by me that have also mouse support. You can install like a normal apk.
In other words you can also use the mouse on the garbage launcher:

to say the true, i never tested if wake on lan works or not, i will see, if you don't get an answer before from other users.

some functionalities of android TV settings, can be set also manually with the command setprop. with getprop you can know all proprieties.
usually you don't also need the setting tv app.

If i don't understand something, i go in the stock firmware, i set with the app the functionality and i read what was changed with the command getprop.
after i can use this command also on full Android.

But with the setting tv app that you can find in second post, you can already set some specific things. All others things can be done with the standard android settings, that have many options compared to tv version.
