Power on on HDMI CEC works, you have right on power off, but absolutly i don't want that my tv turn off if i power off shield tv. I use the TV and the Monitor for many others things and this will be very annoying for 99% of times.

Some sound options can be accessed from the tv settings, like the most importat on audio passtrought, others also with setprop command as i explained in previous posts.

Sorry to insist. The problem is that i can't have acces to device> system> sound control via the tv setting.apk because it crash when i click on system. I just want to activate the HDMI-CEC volume control via the shield.

I'm working very hard from more than 7 days to have LXC Linux containers on Shield TV

Today i had my first Ubuntu 16.04 container working inside Android.

When the work will be complete, i will publish for everyone.

Have Linux containers inside Android is MAGICAL and WONDERFUL.

But i'm very busy.
On previous posts you will find all answers about full Android, that works wonderfully.

This is a very important tech News if you don't know what i'm talking about :) opens infinite scenarios for the Shield TV

Mean that you can have many linux based OS inside Android and every OS use the same kernel in optimized way. The Android kernel.
In theory you can have also two Android OS at same time, for example full Android and Android TV

For now i will publish a custom kernel, therefore a custom boot.img that support lxc containers.
lxc binaries aarch64 compiled for Android
and a working Ubuntu 16.04 container that you can access via xRDP, ssh or like you want.

very very simple to install, also in Android TV.

With this configuration, others developers can test also many others OSes and configs, like Ubuntu touch, Linux4Tegra etc. etc.

I tested Libre Office and chromium browser inside Ubuntu 16.04 from an xRDP session ( the xRDP client inside Android ) and everything is very fast and usable. But we can experiments many things.

Naturally, in the meantime that we don't have an optimized Ubuntu Touch version, for the GPU intensive tasks like video decode, we can use as always the Android OS, while for other things that are not possible in Android we can use Ubuntu.

Have a real and recent Ubuntu OS under the hood, open many scenarios and at same time you can have as always all that Android can offer.

for the weekend we will have this and i will open a separate thread, more developer oriented

LXC containers for Shield TV here:
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1604

Please help me to share this project in your social network because in this way others developers can create many things inside containers.

I require your help because as many of you know, i'm not indexed well on internet :) Because my words are dangerous for many sellers :)

I have a simple question. I never saw the need to upgrade from 1.3 to 1.4. Will the LXC containers and kernel work with 1.3? I have several computers running linux, but they are all a little outdated. The sad part is my Shield is the fastest device in my home. Linux on it would be freaking awesome.
