Re: [ROM][Full Android Marshmallow for Shield TV][v.1.4]
Hi sullu 99 I'm new What you mean when you say- The sideload not solve your problems on Android TV, the sideloaded app have bad resolution on Android TV and the lack of many components inside Android TV create problems on standard android apps. This is a problem that occurs in the original rom?

Maybe I'm not understanding exactly what you instructed.zulu99 wrote:second post third suggestionsfg wrote:I have installed Full Android Marshmallow for Shield TV v1.4 and have also rooted. i changed all instances of "foster_e" to "full_foster_e", uninstalled google play store, rebooted, installed latest version of google play store but i still get the message "unfortunately, google play store has stopped" when i try and open it. What am i doing wrong?Google Play Store Bad TV version:
Not very often can happen that the Google Play Store for TV have a version number greater than the Normal Google Play Store app. In this condition you can have a bad auromatic update of Google Play Store. To solve, edit the build.prop and change each occurrence of the word foster_e in full_foster_e, uninstall the last Google Play automatic update, restart. You can download the last version of Google Play from apkmirror.com and when the normal version have version number greater than tv version you don't have problems, the app update automatically to the last version. My suggestion is to restore the original build.prop when you can.

Clear your data with a factory reset from Android Settings or with fastboot -w
In extreme case reinstall the firmware and don't forget fastboot -w

Re: [ROM][Full Android Marshmallow for Shield TV][v.1.4]
If coming from 1.2 can I just flashed the system image to go to 1.4?
Re: [ROM][Full Android Marshmallow for Shield TV][v.1.4]
NO, you need new kernel / boot.img and bootloader of the last stock firmware.Otisrhw wrote:If coming from 1.2 can I just flashed the system image to go to 1.4?
Therefore, install the last stock firmware and after follow the procedure in first post.

Re: [ROM][Full Android Marshmallow for Shield TV][v.1.4]
so, i am back and alive with 3.2 stock fw on SATV. My goal now is install Full Android on external USB 3.0 HDD. I did steps as guide says:
The step by step procedure from Windows
1) Format an USB HD or USB 3 Flash Drive Ext4 with MiniTool Partition Wizard: https://www.partitionwizard.com/
2) Mount the USB drive with Paragon extFS: https://www.paragon-software.com/home/extfs-windows/
3) Download stock recovery firmware from Nvidia: https://developer.nvidia.com/shield-open-source or Full Android: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1580#p3030
4) Extract system.img and vendor.img from stock recovery firmware or from full Android archive
5) Convert system.img and vendor.img to ext4 using simg2img.exe tool: https://github.com/KinglyWayne/simg2img_win
6) Download su.img from here: https://goo.gl/Jo8mus
7) Copy system.img, vendor.img and su.img to mounted usb drive
8) Attach USB drive to Nvidia Shield TV
(9) Download the boot / recovery image satv_boot_from_usb_1.1.img from here: https://goo.gl/vGosks
10) Reboot Shield TV to Fastboot mode
11) Flash the satv_boot_from_usb_1.1.img as recovery with the command: fastboot flash recovery satv_boot_from_usb_1.1.img
12) Switch from PC screen to Shield TV screen and with the Shield TV power button long press on Boot Recovery Kernel
13) Shield TV will stuck on Nvidia Logo
14) After short time, if you don't see the Android boot logo, remove the power cable
15) Reboot Shield TV to Fastboot mode
16) Flash the satv_boot_from_usb_1.1.img as recovery with the command: fastboot flash recovery satv_boot_from_usb_1.1.img
17) Switch from PC screen to Shield TV screen and with the Shield TV power button long press on Boot Recovery Kernel
18) Now the Shield TV will boot well from USB and the disk will be initialized in the right way
From now on, every time you reboot in recovery mode from the main OS you will go to the second OS that is installed on the USB drive)
I am already at step 8 and i think next steps are not needed for me as i want to use the option choose boot from Flashify. But as long as i am new and lame with Android, i need sometimes rly detailed instructions of what to do. So, if i am correct, i have to install Flashify first on SATV (as i dont have full android on ext USBHDD yet).Done, But it says i dont have root acces. OK, so i have to root SATV, right ? After that, there is need to put the boot system image somewhere into backup folder created by Flashify. This means those 2 files i created by simg2img ? Copy them into backup folder of Flashify app ? Or am i wrong ? if so, please tell me what do i have to copy there. And after success, and boot into full android from extHDD i will install Flashify there also, and what to copy there ? Just try to explain all needed operations with all needed downloads for i can make it works, please.

After you can do what you want.
The only problematic thing in this very simple procedure, is inizialize the disk the first time, after the usb disk boot always well.
For this reason i wrote the precise steps to inizialize the disk.
Therefore follow the 9 to 18 steps to inizialixe the usb disk and after you can also restore the original recovery image and use only Flashify to change boot image on fly when you want.
