"hamburger menue" to close all notifications / close all tasks

Post by retu »

Hi Zulu!

is there a way to show the three horizontal bars to close all notifications / close all tasks like on the screenshot? They are missing on my both shields and I need them, to close all tasks. double gestures with droid mode always closes one task, but opens automatically another one and I'm leaving the taskview :(

Maybe you are not using droidmote in the correct way.

With two fingers very close, slide down the status bar and with two fingers swipe away the notification. The same action that you do with your phone or tablet.

For recent apps, open the recents apps menu and with two fingers very close swipe away the app that you want.

What many users not understand in the first usages, is that with two fingers on touch pad you can have real multi touch gestures on the remote devices. Therefore you can control everything like you do on your phone or tablet.

One finger for mouse, two fingers for multi touch gestures.
The touch mouse instead is a special mouse that you can use in many multi touch games where a normal mouse ( also hatdware ) not works.

This apart keyboard, voice dictation, dpad buttons, multimedia buttons, real controller emulation ( 16 buttons and 8 axes) and gamepad2touch for multi touch games.

To have the button to close all recents apps, you can install the Chainfire app recently

Is not necessary. With full Android and a good remote you can do everything wonderfully.

Hi Zulu I'm about to buy a new ssd samsung evo 850 to replace my 128 gb Patriot Rage Xt pendrive since it seems to have little troubles with games and Kodi (some kind of glitches, dropouts etc) that I never had before now,not even with a class 6 64gb sd! Don'you think it would be a good idea to upload videos that illustrate step by step how to rootNvidia Shield, how to install dual boot on it or full Android?

If you want the true, i think that if an user not know how to do this very simple and basic things, is better that use an Iphone. Sorry if seems too rude, but i really think that today Android without root is only an invention to fool users without tech knowledge.

For root you can watch this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rFas1Hw_Y4

About the dual boot, the guide is really step by step. Format a disk ext4, copy 3 files inside and boot a different boot image, is very simple. When you have root is also more simple with Flashify https://youtu.be/Bsrqg7EqktU

Users should know how to root Android with a custom recovery before buy the Shield TV. Otherwise the best choose for this user is an Apple TV.

Without root, users are just trained monkeys in the hands of Apple and Google. Open your mind and try to understand why this companies want close the users in a "Walled Garden". This is monopoly not security. Security is when the owner of a device can disable his security. If you can't disable your security you are just an hostage of someone else.

P.S.
Thanks for your post, in this way i can write what i'm really think. Do not take my words as an offense, just I try to spur the users to fight the monopolies and abuses.

No offense,I asked you to put some videos that explain how to get full android on Shield Tv because in my opinion a video with instructons might be simpler to understand than a guide on internet,at least for the newbies like me.I' m waiting this Samsung ssd before trying to install full android on my Shield device, because after 2 months I' m tired of the limitations of Android Tv o.s.

No problem at all.
Some time i use some generic questions to express my vision to others users. I'm here to try to help everyone.
I also posted the youtube video link for root.

I'm in the Android world from some years and i know very well that is not simple for all users have root. Google add abstacles to root purposely.

Listen this:

Google sell root apps in Google play, earn the 30% for every root app sold. Google also use apps that require system permission ( root ) because can install apps in system folder and sign apps with the platform key of the manufacturer ( this mean root permission ), but at same time fight the root in Android.
Google and the manufacturer can have root and all others developers, users and companies no. This is monopoly. And for this reason Europe and Russian they are getting many money from Google thanks to antitrust laws.

Instead small developers must only suffer this abuse and also pay many money to Google to have the app in Google Play, but at same time Google fight this app.

This is not correct, in case this is legal. There is a clear conflict of interests.

Skype and Hangouts are working on full Android, read previous post for the Hangouts audio trick.
Personally i never use Leanback Launcher, but if you need one with mouse support you can download this: https://youtu.be/c0uFJWIcIXM

Don't forget that you can have in dual boot also full Android and StockRestyle not only full Android and Android TV
