Summary. Media Insight (the “Software”) is developed by Videomap. The desktop app runs locally, processes your files on your machine, and is offline by default. We do not collect or upload your media. The public website (this page and /mediainsight) uses limited, privacy‑friendly analytics for aggregate usage only.

This policy describes how we handle information for (1) the desktop Software and (2) our website.

• Desktop Software: processes your files locally. No media or EXIF/GPS data is transmitted to Videomap servers unless you explicitly choose an online action.
• Website: collects minimal data such as standard web logs and anonymous analytics to understand page visits and downloads.

• In the Software (local only): file paths, thumbnails, embeddings, EXIF/GPS metadata, and analysis results are stored in a local database on your computer so you can reopen projects. These data never leave your device unless you share them yourself.
• Licensing/updates: the Software may contact a licensing service to validate a trial or activation and may check for updates. Requests can include a license key, a hashed or pseudonymous device identifier, app version, and timestamps.
• On the Website: we may receive aggregate information such as IP address (in server logs), user‑agent, pages viewed, and download events. We use this to keep the site reliable and to count downloads.

Our website may use privacy‑respecting analytics (e.g., Google Analytics GA4 configured for aggregate reporting). Cookies, if present, are used only to measure traffic and improve content. You can block cookies in your browser without affecting your ability to download the Software.

Local analysis data remains on your computer until you delete it. Server logs and licensing records are kept only as long as needed for security, debugging, and legal compliance, after which they are deleted or anonymized.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; keep your device and project folders protected.

If we transfer data across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
